2023 001 Vintners Merlot Ecotone Vineyard – February 2026 Release
“98 points, Mostly Merlot with a touch of Cabernet Franc, the 2023 Merlot Ecotone Vineyard offers rocking aromatics of black cherries, leafy herbs, chocolate, and spring flowers, with some cedary herbal notes. It's medium to full-bodied, has a pure, focused, elegant mouthfeel, ultra-fine tannins, and a great finish. It's up with the top expressions of the variety in the valley. Give it 2-4 years, and it will cruise for 20 years. Drink 2027-2047.”

“99 Points, From this cooler, elevated site above Meadowood in St. Helena, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Ecotone Vineyard delivers ripe blue and black fruits and a Graves-like scorched earth character with notes of smoke, tobacco, and chocolate. Deep purple-hued, it is a ripe, powerful, concentrated wine that still stays light on its feet, balanced, and seamless, with ultra-fine tannins. This is absolutely brilliant and will benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age before hitting its stride.”
